The University of KwaZulu-(UKZN) Natal administration has made public the deadlines for submitting an online application form, paying the application fee, enrolling as a new student, and other dates. The deadlines for 2024/2025 pertain to applications for college admission. This page contains information about how to apply when to register for the 2024/2025 academic year, and other things.

What you must have before the application date

Applicants must be ready with all the supporting documents such as results, certificates, ID, and others. A working email address is also required from the applicants. Applicants whose documents are not certified and scanned must do so before commencing the online application. This facilitates the online application process. Applicants must also download the prospectus of the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) to check all the requirements of their desired courses.

Uknz Application Opening Dates

On April 1, 2023, the application procedure will start. The university may, however, amend this date. After this date, the university will accept online applications for consideration. Before this date, applicants are urged to gather the necessary documentation.

Citizens of South Africa

Semester 1 (January intake)

  • Medicine: 30 June: No late applications are accepted.
  • All other programmes: 30 September.

August intake

  • Applications closed on 30 June 2023

International Applicants

Closing Dates:

  • For admission to semester 1 (February): Closing date 30 September 2023
  • For admission to semester 2 (August):  Closing date 30 June 2023
  • No late applications will be accepted by international applicants.

Application Fee at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) for 2024/2025 admissions.

A non-refundable application fee of R210 is payable to UKZN on submission of an application and required documentation (late fee R420). Details of how to pay will be discussed in our subsequent articles.
