Universities Without Application Fee 2026

Good news for future students in South Africa! Many public universities now offer the option to apply online for free, with no application fees required. This post provides a list of these universities and links to their application guidelines, making it easy for you to submit a free application and secure your spot for the 2026 academic year.

Applications for the 2026 academic year at South African universities are open from March 1, 2025, to March 15, 2026. You can apply online or in-person to your chosen universities for both undergraduate and graduate programs.

1. University of South Africa (UNISA)

3. University of Pretoria (UP)

The University of Pretoria (UP) is South Africa’s largest contact university and one of Africa’s top institutions. 4. Rhodes University (RU)

5. University of Johannesburg (UJ)

8. Stellenbosch University (SU)
