When Will UNISA Close 2026 Undergraduate Applications

The University of South Africa (UNISA) is still accepting applications for the 2026 admissions, attracting thousands of applicants globally.

However, the university has announced the closing date for all undergraduate qualifications, including Higher Certificates, Advanced Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, and undergraduate Degree programs, for the 2026 academic year. All application materials and documents must be submitted by the said date.

UNISA 2026 Applications Date

The University of South Africa (UNISA) continues to accept thousands of applications for the 2026 academic year through its active online application system. Due to capacity limitations, it is important to be aware of the closing date for the application portal, as only a limited number of applicants will be admitted into various programs.

UNISA opened its application window for Higher Certificates, Advanced Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, and undergraduate Degree programs on August 19, 2025. Prospective applicants interested in undergraduate courses or degrees must ensure that all required application documents are submitted by the closing date.

UNISA Undergraduate Application Date (2026)

According to UNISA, undergraduate applications for 2026 will be accepted from August 19, 2025, to October 11, 2025. Students applying for undergraduate qualifications must submit all necessary documents, including proof of payment, by this date. Late applications will only be considered if there are still available courses after the general deadline.

Who Qualifies to Apply For UNISA 2026 Admissions?

University Qualifications Criteria

Applicant must be a first-time or fresh applicant.
Current students can modify their qualifications.
Transfer students, former students, and others can apply.

Every applicant is required to submit one application for a maximum of two (2) study courses. If you are eligible for the two courses, you will receive an offer with the opportunity to choose only one of the two options. You have at least 10 days after receiving an offer to accept or reject it for the upcoming academic year.

Documents Required For UNISA 2026 Applications

Provide each a certified copy of the following:

A copy of your previous school results
A copy of any tertiary education academic records
A copy of ID/Passport/Birth certificate
Sworn translations of any documents that are not in English or Afrikaans\
An email address and a phone number
Residential and postal address

Select “admissions and click on it
Click on “Apply for admission”
Select “undergraduate admissions”
Click on “Start the process”
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the form
Complete all required field
Submit a completed form
Upload all required documents
Proceed to pay the application fee

Who Pays Unisa Application fee

New or first-time applicants must pay a non-refundable application fee. You won’t be given a student number until Unisa has verified your payment during the application period. The application cost may be paid online or by wire transfer to a designated bank account.
