The University of South Africa (UNISA) will begin first-semester registration for undergraduate qualifications, honors degrees, and postgraduate certificates from the 10th of January 2024 until the 10th of February 2024. Unisa will notify all successful applicants who have confirmed their acceptance of Unisa’s offer of any modifications to the registration dates and process.

Register for the 2024 academic year

Accepting an offer, paying the registration money, and preparing your registration documents before the opening date are required to register your modules for the 2024 academic year at the University of South Africa (UNISA). The registration process is designed to enroll you in courses for the first semester of the 2024 academic year. Any approved student who fails to register with Unisa will forfeit their admission spot to another student.

Before you even consider registering, make sure you submit all of the required documents and pay the application fee. Please keep in mind that only students who accept a Unisa offer after applying will have access to the 2024 registration dates, fees, documents, and process.

Documents Required to Register at Unisa For 2024-2025

To register at the University of South Africa (UNISA) ensure you meet the requirements below

  • Academic transcripts and certificates,
  • Identity documents, usually a copy of your passport or ID card.
  • Passport-sized photographs,
  • Proof of your English language proficiency (IELTS TOEFL/CAE or CPE)
  • Proof of payment of the registration fee

Foreign Students must have:

  • Certified copy of your valid passport
  • Certified copy of your valid study visa or proof of Permanent Residence in South Africa;
  • Proof of South African medical aid (for study visa-holders);
  • Proof of payment (scholarships/bursaries must be authorized by Unisa International’s financial administrators)

How to register at the University of South Africa Unisa for 2024?

The first semester of the 2024 academic year begins with all accepted students registering for their respective courses from January 10 to February 10, 2024. You must register online before the deadline because there will be no late registration after that date. Follow the steps below to register for the first semester of the 2024 academic year at the University of South Africa (UNISA).

  • Open the Unisa registration form at: www.registration.unisa.ac.za/
  • Choose your qualification and click on the “GO” link
  • You will be redirected to the UNISA online registration page
  • Start by answering the required questions
  • Provide your student number in the required field.
  • Confirm your personal details on the screen.
  • Correct any details of yours to make sure you have accurate information
  • Choose from the drop box list the qualified modules and proceed
  • Ensure that you do not exceed the prescribed number of modules per semester or year otherwise, it will delay your registration process.
  • The system will generate the amount you must pay for the selected modules
  • Submit your registration form
  • Registrations will only be processed if the minimum required fee has been paid.
  • Please allow 48 hours after payment has been made for the payment to reflect.
  • As soon as your Unisa registration has been finalized, a letter confirming your registration for the semester or academic year will be sent to your myLife e-mail account

How to cancel or add a module at Unisa For 2024?

Students who want to add or cancel a module during or after registration must do so within the registration period by following the instructions below.

  • Login to myUnisa to add or cancel a module.
  • Please note that if you voluntarily cancel your registration of a module for any reason whatsoever, you will forfeit a part of or the entire fee paid as prescribed in the fee payment schedule.
  • Please also take note of Unisa’s academic progression rules on the number of modules you are required to pass per year.
