North-West University (NWU) Online Application Requirements For 2025-2026

The following documents are required when applying to North-West University:

Undergraduate students

Grade 12 results, Grade 11 results (final results only)
copy of your matric certificate – if you have already passed matric.
Copy of an Applicant’s Identity document
Copy of Applicant’s academic record (if applicable).
Applicants currently upgrading their grade 12 results, will only be considered after the improved results are presented to the NWU.
Applicants who follow Cambridge, GED, or any other non-NSC curriculum, or who may qualify for exemption based on advanced age or post-school qualifications, must provide an exemption certificate as issued by USAF.

How to Complete NWU Online Application 2025-2026

Follow the steps below to complete North-West University online application form for 2025-2026:

Returning Students

Enter your student number and the PIN you created to log in.
Fill in all fields with precise and accurate data.
Any required supporting documents must be uploaded in the correct format.
The application is free for South African applicants; it costs R550 for applicants from other countries.
This must be paid before you can submit your online application.
To submit an application, you must first click the submit button.

Fresh Applicants

Choosing a New application.
Go to create a new student number. Complete the boxes and enter a unique student number.
Use your student number along with the PIN number you made to log in.
Complete all fields with exact and accurate data.
Upload any necessary supporting documents in the appropriate format.
Cost of Application Fee for 2025: The application is free for South African Applicants and R550 for international students.
This must be paid before you can submit the online application.

Owing to specific capacity constraints, the University reserves the right to select candidates for admission to specific fields of study. This means that prospective students who comply with the minimum requirements will not automatically be admitted to the courses in question. Because of the capacity limitations and the high demand from students for admission to particular fields of study, students will be selected on the basis of their Grade 12 results for admission to these fields.
