This great university is a great way to further your education at a higher level. Knowing how to apply or what marks to get is usually quite tricky to get your head around. Luckily, richadmissions have put together everything you need to know about how to get to North-West University (NWU).
NWU Opening and Deadlines of Applications: As of April 1, 2023, North-West University is accepting online applications from all prospective students who desire to enroll at the school for the academic year 2024/2025. By the end of August 2023, all selection programs will have closed their applications. Aside from a select handful with a deadline of June 30, 2023.
PEASE NOTE: Any application after these dates will not be considered.

First-time Applicants
- For online applications, visit the application portal at www.nwu.ac.za
- Choosing a New application.
- Go to create a new student number. Complete the boxes and enter a new student number.
- Use your student number along with the PIN number you made to log in.
- Complete all fields with exact and accurate data.
- Upload any necessary supporting documents in the appropriate format.
- Cost of Application Fee for 2023: The application is free for South African Applicants and R550 for international students. This must be paid before you can submit the online application.
- Application submission is made by clicking the submit button.
Previous Applicants
- To log in, enter your student number and the PIN you created.
- Fill out all fields with precise and accurate information.
- Any required supporting papers should be uploaded in the proper format.
- Application Fee Price for 2023: For South African applicants, the application is free; for applicants from other countries, it costs R550.
- Before you may submit the online application, this must be paid.
- The submit button must be clicked in order to submit an application.
Required Documents that must be uploaded during the application
Undergraduate students
- Grade 12 results, Grade 11 results (final results only)
- copy of your matric certificate – if you have already passed matric.
- Copy of an Applicant’s Identity document
- Copy of Applicant’s academic record (if applicable).
- Applicants who are currently upgrading their grade 12 results, will only be considered after the improved results are presented to the NWU.
- Applicants who follow Cambridge, GED, or any other non-NSC curriculum, or who may qualify for exemption based on advanced age or post-school qualifications, must provide an exemption certificate as issued by USAF.
