The final step in the application process is urging the selected candidates to officially register when the application procedure is over. All new students register electronically with the Nelson Mandela University. To be a fully admitted student to the university, this is necessary.

If your application is accepted, there is no need for you to go on campus for registration or enquiries because the entire registration process is done online. Read this article for more information on the registration, closing dates, and Payment method sanctioned by the university

Deadline  For Registration

The closing date for applications is February 2023. Late applications will be considered but with a fee. Students are hereby advised to register as early as possible after they received their acceptance letter. Late registrations however close on 04 March 2023.

Before you can register, these amounts must be paid

  • Degree Programmes, Postgraduate Diplomas, and Occasional Studies Full-time students  R 8900
  • Degree Programmes, Postgraduate Diplomas, and Occasional Studies Part-time students R 5100
  • Diploma/Certificate Programmes Full-time students        R 6300
  • Diploma/Certificate Programmes Part-time students       R 4400
  • Residences (students at all campuses) R R 6600

Steps to follow to register online for 2023

  • Enter the university URL into your browser: https://www.mandela.ac.za/Registration
  • Select register now and login.
  • Select registration. This can be found at the top left of your screen.
  •  Select declaration by applicant. Please read and acknowledge the content and then select I accept. You have to
    complete this process before you will be allowed to continue with your registration. This is only applicable if this is your first online registration. Select register now
  •  Your qualification information for 2023 will be displayed.
  • Enter your employment status by selecting a value from the list. Save and continue.
  •  The modules for your qualification will be displayed. Make your selection from the text box on the left.
  • Select save and continue once you have selected the modules for which you want to register. Note: you may only register for 120 credits or the annual total of your programme for any specific academic year. Select continue and view modules selected.
  •  Select I accept to confirm the registration of modules.
  • Select accept registration in order to finalize your registration.
  • Your proof of registration will be displayed.
  • Print your proof of registration and exit the page
