National Student Financial Aid (NSFAS) is available to academically deserving and financially underprivileged students in the form of bursaries and loans. With the exception of abroad students enrolled in NC (V) or Report 191 programs, as well as students enrolled in Occupational and other programs, college scholarships are offered to conforming South African students who qualify for NSFAS assistance.

Financially poor students with academic aptitude and/or evidence of excellent academic accomplishment can apply for an NSFAS bursary for the 2024 academic year. Bursaries will be distributed in accordance with the allowances policy of the NSFAS.

Who Is Eligible for NSFAS 2024 Funding?

To be eligible for NSFAS funding for the current academic year, you must meet the following requirements.

  • South African citizens or permanent residents
  • SASSA grant recipients
  • Applicants with a total annual gross family income of less than R350 000; people with disabilities with an annual gross household income of less than R600 000.
  • A student with a valid phone number and email address
  • You must attend Waterberg College to be eligible.
  • You must be studying one of the NSFAS-approved courses

Tvet College students who want to apply for NSFAS funding for the academic year 2024, which will cover tuition, registration fees, housing costs, transportation costs, and personal care, should take the following steps:

  • Go to www.nsfas.org.za and select the myNSFAS link for the online application form 2024.
  • Create a myNSFAS account before applying.
  • Fill out the NSFAS account area to create an account.
  • You should be congratulated for setting up an NSFAS account.
  • Protect your password and account.
  • Fill in the blanks on the screen by selecting the “APPLY” tab.
  • Upload any supporting documents that are requested.
  • Click the “Submit” button when it appears.
