The head office of Gert Sibande TVET College houses a dedicated Financial Aid Office. The office is in charge of overseeing and managing all aspects of financial aid and bursary administration at the College, including the NSFAS. All students must now apply online for financial aid through the consolidated ONLINE Application System for Bursaries that NSFAS has implemented. From September 28 until January 31st, 2024, the NSFAS application portal will be open.

What You Need to Apply For NSFAS Bursary

Prospective applicants In order to apply for NSFAS for the 2024 academic year, must have a cell phone number, an email address, a certified copy of their ID, a consent form, proof of their income, and their academic results. Additionally, they must scan a certified copy of their parent’s/guardian’s/death ID together.

All applicants who want to be considered for the NSFAS bursary must also have a personal bank account before starting the online application process. On September 28, 2023, the NSFAS application window will open and close on January 31, 2024.

What the NSFAS Bursary Applicant Must Do

Follow these guidelines even after earning an NSFAS bursary.

  • Make sure your NSFAS Bursary has all the necessary supporting documentation included.
  • Send the application form, which has been scanned, together with your online bursary application.
  • The Commissioner of Oaths must certify all required paperwork.
  • Since NSFAS will be paying students’ allowances directly into their accounts, active banking information should be given to the NSFAS student account.
  • Attend classes and achieve well academically, and check the status of the application process with the Student Support Services Center & and the Office of the SRC on campus.

NSFAS Application Documentation Required.

The following documents are required for a student’s Gert Sibande Tvet College application to be considered valid for processing:

  • Valid Affidavit by Parent or Legal Guardian or Employer
  • Certified Copy of the SA ID (not older than 3 months)
  • Certified ID Copies of Parents or Legal Guardian
  • Salary Advice (Pay Slip) of Parents or Legal Guardian (not older than 3 months) • Academic Records from previous levels
  • Applicant’s home address, postal address, and address while studying
  • Death Certificates if Parent(s) or Guardian(s) are deceased and Marriage Certificate (if applicable)

Who is eligible to apply for an NSFAS bursary at Sibande Tvet College?

You are qualified to apply for the NSFAS bursary if you attend Gert Sibande Tvet College and match the criteria listed below.

  • Citizens of South Africa
  • First-time registrants who have a household income of R 350k or less
  • students who registered before 2018, but whose household income was R 122k or less.
  • To study at Sibande Tvet College, a student must be enrolled or have plans to enroll
  • A student with a phone number and an email address
  • A college student who is disabled and whose annual gross income is no more than R600k

What expenses are covered by the NSFAS bursary at Gert Sibande Tvet College?

Application Process For NSFAS 2024 Bursary

  • Pick “myNSFAS” from the drop-down option.
