Applying for admission to Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) for the 2025/2026 academic year is now easier than ever thanks to our streamlined online application process. If this is your first time applying to Cape Peninsula University, you must pay close attention to the system prompts and other on-screen instructions. Although we have provided some processes and what you may require to apply and submit a successful application to CPUT, this may not be the case if you do not follow the system guidelines.
You must fill out every required field during the online application procedure or you will be unable to move to the next level. If a field is left unfilled, it will be highlighted in red. You must return to that field and supply the answer before proceeding to the next stage.
If your application is successful, you’ll receive an acceptance letter from CPUT. This letter will contain instructions for registration and enrollment. Follow these guidelines to secure your spot in your chosen program

- At the top menu of the page, click on “How to Apply“. Ensure your internet is strong
- Choose your qualification
- Get an online application form
- Gather your documents or upload further/ outstanding documents
- Fill in the online application form
- Pay the application fee that applies to you (Local or International Applicants)
- Submit your completed online application form and documents
- Follow up and check your admission status
PLEASE NOTE: Make sure to submit your application as soon as possible and avoid last-minute submissions. The demand for access to CPUT is higher in comparison with the number of applications allowed into the programmes (as controlled by the enrolment targets)
CPUT Admission Requirements 2025/2026
The Grade 12 students’ entrance requirements for 2025 will simply be based on their final Grade 11 grades, together with any additional program-specific requirements (where applicable). The final Grade 12 results will still be used to determine a participant’s admittance into the program.
- Specific minimum requirements for a course (subjects required/recommended, achievement rating, portfolio to be submitted, interview in Cape Town, evaluation tests, or experience required) may apply to each course.
- Applicants may be required to write additional proficiency tests as part of the admission requirements for the certificate, diploma, and degree programs.
- Minimum admission requirements may be adjusted at the discretion of the Dean, subject to the approval of the Faculty Board and the Senate of the University.
