Does the University of Johannesburg (UJ) accept Hard Copy applications?

The application process page will guide you. University of Johannesburg (UJ) encourages prospective students to apply using the paper-based in 2024/2025. Note that late applications are not necessarily accepted. Plan to apply before the closing date each year.

When can I Apply then: The hard copy of the application form is accessible after APRIL 01, 2023. The closing date for all undergraduate programmes is 30 September 2023. Late applications will not be considered in 2024/2025.

Is the Application form For Sale: Applicants who apply using the paper-based application will pay a non-refundable application fee of R200.00. Applicant should pay the fee into the First National Bank (FNB) UJ account with the account number 626 158 73280 at FNB Client Services. Applicants should remember to use the student number as a reference.  The branch code is 210-554 and they only accept cheques.

Phase 1: Choose between options 1 and 2 for your qualification study. (Please make sure you meet the entrance standards outlined in this prospectus.)

Phase 2: If you don’t already have a UJ student number, pay the R200 application fee and fill out the UJ academic application form.

Phase 3: Submit your application to one of the University of Jacksonville’s four campuses. Please wait three weeks before contacting us to inquire about the status of your application. If your application satisfies the minimum standards and space is available in your desired program, you will be notified if your application was successful or not.

What are the minimum requirements for a Degree, Diploma, and certificate?

Bachelor’s Degree: A NSC with a minimum of 30% in the language of learning and teaching of the Higher Education Institution (HEI), coupled with an achievements rating of 4 (50-59%) or better in any four (4) NSC subject except Life Orientation.

Diploma: A diploma pass requires 40% in four higher credit subjects, 30% in three lower credit subjects, and you may fail one subject.

Certificate: A certificate pass requires a 40% pass in your home language, 2 subjects above 40%, 4 subjects above 30% and you may fail 1 subject. This pass allows you to study for a higher certificate.
