This article is intended to inform the general public, parents, guardians, and all interested individuals that the official application cycle for the University of Zululand’s 2026 intake is now open. The application process is designed to accept new students into each program offered at the university.

Candidates are encouraged to submit their applications early and upload the required documents online via www.cao.ac.za before the deadline

University of Zululand 2026 Application Date Breakdown

Be sure to submit your application according to the dates below to be considered for the 2026 intake

  • Application Opening Date: Tuesday, April 1, 2025
  • Closing Date: October 31, 2025 (All available courses)
  • Submission of supporting documents: Midnight of October 31, 2025

Complete List of Documents for UNIZULU 2026 Application

Certified copies of the following documents must accompany each Application:

  • Identity Document
  • diploma or degree certificate (if available)
  • An academic record with conduct in respect of studies at another tertiary institution
  • Proof of payment of the non-refundable application fee (see relevant fee above).
  • Matric results/certificate

Foreign students must in addition provide:

  • Valid passport and study permit
  • SAQA verification certificate
  • Proof of financial means (bank statements, bursaries, cash available/traveler’s cheque to
  • Cover envisaged living expenses during the sojourn in the Republic and paying tuition fees)

N.B.: Ensure all the documents above are certified and scanned before you submit them.

University of Zululand Application Fee

The application fee is R250 for South African applicants and R300 for international applicants.

To ensure your application is processed without delay, you can pay the application fee using the following payment methods: online credit card payment during the application on www.cao.ac.za, or through EasyPay by using your unique EasyPay number at participating outlets. Alternatively, you can make a bank payment to the following banking details:

How to Apply Online for the University of Zululand 2026

To apply online:

  • Visit www.cao.ac.za.
  • Click on the “Apply” button.
  • Enter your ID number or passport number.
  • Click “Submit.”
  • Select the appropriate option and click “Continue.”
  • Carefully complete the required information on the page.
  • Click “Next” to proceed.
  • Access your CAO number, password, and EasyPay PIN.
  • Use the provided credentials to continue the online application process.
  • Follow the prompts and complete each stage of the application.
  • Provide details of your next of kin.
  • Enter your previous educational qualifications.
  • Select “University of Zululand” from the drop box list
  • Finalize your application by processing it through the system.
  • Upload all required supporting documents.

Registration for 2026 at the University of Zululand

Online registration for the 2026 academic year will open to all new students accepted for the intake at the University of Zululand.
