The University of Venda, one of the world’s top technological universities, is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025  January intake. Univen, as it is commonly known due to its current capacity, has released an online application form for all prospective students interested in studying an undergraduate or postgraduate course for the academic year 2024-2025. On April 1, 2023, the University of Venda (UNIVEN) will open its online application for the 2024 intake.

Prospective students who want to apply to the University of Venda (UNIVEN) for the academic year 2024-2025 but are unsure how to do so should go to the official website at www.univen.ac.za online application login and follow the instructions. To begin a new application at the University of Venda (UNIVEN), you will need a smart device as well as supporting documentation such as your ID number/passport number and academic qualification. Before beginning a new application at UNIVEN, ensure that you meet the course requirements.

What you will need to start a new application at the University of Venda (UNIVEN)

To start a new application at Univen for 2024-2025, the following requirements must be met:

  • Make sure you have all of your supporting documentation ready.
  • Your local police station must certify these documents.
  • The Certification must be no more than 60 days old at the time of application.
  • Use a browser that is compatible with all of your applications and inquiries.
  • Check that your ID card is a government-issued identification card.
  • Fill out all of the fields marked with a red *.
  • Your academic credentials must be a scanned copy of the original issued by your previous institute.
  • Indicate on the Univen application form if you require campus housing.
  • Examine the entry requirements for your preferred course.

The online application for the 2024 January intake at the University of Venda (UNIVEN) will be open from April 1, 2023, to September 30, 2023. Remember that closing dates may vary by course, so check the full list of univen courses and their respective closing dates or deadlines for the 2024 intake.

There is an application fee for applying to the University of Venda, and if you do not pay it, your application will be rejected.

Every applicant for the University of Venda Admission must pay an R100 non-refundable application fee. The University of Venda will only accept and process your application if all required documents, including proof of payment of the application fee for 2024, are received within the application deadlines.

Prospective students must submit the following documents when applying to the University of Venda. These are the documents needed to apply online to the University of Venda. Your application form is invalid without these documents, and it may be rejected for 2024 January intake admissions.

  • A South African Identify number or passport number (international students)
  • Cell phone number
  • A working email address
  • Credit/debit card with cv number to pay R100 application fee online.
  • Grade 11 report or statement of grade 12 results
  • A copy of the Matric Certificate
  • Copy of study /residence permit / medical insurance /SAQA Evaluation Certificate

Before applying to the University of Venda, you should download the prospectus and read about the entry and minimum requirements of the course you want to study in 2024 at univen. You may select up to two study options as first and second choices on the application form. During the online application process, you will be able to select the course code from a drop box.

How to Start a new Application at the University of Venda for 2024-2025

  • Visit UNIVEN online application portal: www.univen.ac.za
  • Click on “Apply for Admission” at the top menu of the UNIVEN homepage
  • Click on “Begin online application”
  • An Academic Application Process opens
  • Read the information carefully
  • Please proceed to log into the myAccess webpage with your student number, to continue with your application
  • Pay the Non Refundable Application fee of R100
  • Complete and submit your application online
  • During the online application process, you may save and return at a later stage to resume the application process.
  • The applicant will be required to create a pin consisting of 5 digits

University of Venda (Univen) Admission Requirements 2024/2025

Undergraduate Admission

Degree:

The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi) with an achievement rating of 4 (adequate achievement, 50-59%) or better in four subjects chosen from the recognized 20-credit NSC subjects. In addition, applicants must have a minimum point score of 26. A grade 12 certificate with a bachelor or matric exemption is required if grade 12 has been achieved.

Diploma:

The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 3 (moderate achievement, 40-49%) or better in four recognized NSC 20-credit subjects.

Certificate:

The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi.
To be considered for admission to specific programmes, applicants are required to have the appropriate combinations of recognized National Senior Certificate subjects as well as certain levels of achievement in these subjects.
