How To Track DUT 2026 Application Status

The direct DUT status page and CAO status portal for Durban University of Technology (DUT) are open from April to November 30th, 2025, for both returning and first-time students. As previously mentioned, first-time students must apply through the CAO, while all other applicants should apply directly to DUT and use the same platform to check the status of their applications.

After the application time is over, you will need to use your information to access the application dashboard and see how your 2026 admissions process is progressing. To accomplish this, you will require:

An internet access
Smart Device
Login details (CAO Number or DUT student Number & PIN)

How to check Application Status at DUT for 2026

If you applied through the Central Application Office (CAO) for the 2026 academic intake, follow the steps below to check your application status:

Go to the CAO application page at www.cao.ac.za
Click on “Check My Status” on the left side of the page
Select and enter one of the following identification numbers:
- CAO Number or ID Number or Passport Number
Then click the Submit button
Wait for the real-time feedback

Remember, the Central Application Office (CAO) is merely a processing platform, but the final decision will be made by Durban University of Technology

Once you are accepted, an offer will be sent to you via email by DUT, which you must accept in preparation for registration for the semester.
