All applicants who wish to submit for the first time or give themselves a second shot (Previous Applicants) should go to the official website and begin their late application. The application portal is now open to all potential students who were unable to apply during the initial application window but wish to attend university in the 2023 academic year.

The late application date for DUT varies depending on the program and the semester. Generally, the late application date is two weeks after the start of the semester. However, some programs may have different deadlines. It is best to contact the university directly for more information.

 

Prospective students who have yet to apply for a study programme at the Durban University of Technology are encouraged to do so as the university prepares to launch its application portal for the second application session. Durban University’s online application form, which was accessible from April 1 to October 31, 2023, has reopened for late applications for 2024 until 09 February 2024.

 

Go to the official website to see whether there are still courses available because that is the only reason for late applications to Durban University of Technology (DUT) for 2024-2025. Late applications will be considered only if courses are still available at the end of the selection process or if accepted students decline an offer, leaving the course unfilled.   • You are required to complete an application for transferring from one DUT programme to another. The form (Form 23 – DUT Students Transferring From One Faculty/Department To Another) is available on the student portal (click here to access the form). You may request the form from the relevant Faculty Office.
  • Please ensure that this is done timeously (at least two months before registration) for your application to be considered. Late applications will not be considered.

From Another University to Durban University of Technology

  • DUT does consider admitting students from other universities subject to them meeting the relevant university and departmental requirements. Such students are required to complete an application form which is available on the student portal http://dutstudent/DUT%20Student%20Forms/Forms/AllItems.aspx  or may be requested from the appropriate Faculty Office.
  • Please ensure that this is done timeously for your application to be considered. Late applications will not be considered. If you are applying to transfer from another university, it is mandatory for you to provide Durban University of Technology with the following:
    • Original academic transcript
    • A certificate of conduct,
    • Matric certificate
    • And any qualifications obtained from your previous institution

Will DUT Open Late Application For applicants who could not apply during the general application window

  • No late online or via walk-in applications will be accepted for the 2024/2025 academic year. Applicants are entreated to take the opportunity of the first application window to secure a seat for the 2024 academic year
  • It depends on the specific DUT. Some DUTs may accept late applications, while others may not. It is best to contact the DUT directly to find out their specific policies regarding late applications.
  • Generally, DUT does not accept late applications after the closing date.
