Is Durban University of Technology Open For 2026
Durban University of Technology is now accepting applications for the 2026 academic year. The application portal opens on April 1, 2025, and will remain open until November 30, 2025, for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. We encourage prospective students to apply early as spaces are limited.
Students can also apply for NSFAS financial aid, which will be available starting in September 2025. Visit www.nsfas.ac.za for more information.
DUT Application Deadlines (Academic Year 2026)
The online application period for Durban University of Technology ends on November 30, 2025. Late applications will only be considered if space is still available, so it’s recommended to submit your application before the deadline.
Required Documents
Make sure to gather the necessary documents before applying:
Domestic Students
- Certified Copy of ID and Birth certificate
- Final Grade 11 Report (if you are in Grade 12) OR
- Highest qualification achieved
- Copy of study/residence permit (if you are a non-South-African applicant)
- Proof of Payment of Application Fee
- June Grade 12 Report (as soon as you receive it if you are currently in Grade 12)
- September/Trials Grade 12 Report (as soon as you receive it if you are currently in Grade 12).
International students:
- Proof of Initial Fee (IF) clearance by no later than 21 January 2026.
- Passport with a valid study visa to study specifically at Durban University of Technology.
- A medical aid membership certificate, which can be verified by Consultants, Simeka Health (Pty) Ltd
- If your A-level or IGCSE results are not available at the time of registration, you will not be permitted to register until they are. If you pre-registered, you will be given a confirmation number.

Application Fee Requirements
Durban University of Technology (DUT) charges an application fee as follows:
- South African applicants: R250.00 non-refundable application fee
- International applicants: R300.00 non-refundable application fee
Applicants must upload proof of payment when applying through the Central Application Office (CAO). The application fee is subject to change.
