How to Apply at DUT For 2025

To apply online at DUT for 2025/2026, applicants must follow the steps below:

  1. Visit the Central Applications Office (CAO) website: www.cao.ac.za
  2. Complete the CAO application form online
  3. Upload certified copies of your identity  document and Final Grade 11 & Grade 12 certificate ( June/ Trial report if you have not written your final examination)
  4. The application form must reach the CAO office before the closing date of 30 November 2024. Because some programs end earlier than 30 November 2024, please refer to specific programs for applicable ending dates as stated in the table above.
  5. Pay the application fee before submitting your application.

Please Take Note: Make sure that your application AND fee reach the CAO before the closing date. Submission of a completed application form does not mean that you have been granted admission as a student, or that you may register. All applicants will be notified via email/SMS, of the outcome of their application.

DUT Application Requirements For 2025

Upload the documents below when completing the CAO application form for the academic year 2025

  • Certified Copy of ID and Birth certificate
  • Final Grade 11 Report (if you are in Grade 12) OR
  • Highest qualification achieved
  • Copy of study/residence permit (if you are a non-South-African applicant)
  • Proof of Payment of Application Fee
  • June Grade 12 Report (as soon as you receive it if you are currently in Grade 12)
  • September/Trials Grade 12 Report (as soon as you receive it if you are currently in Grade 12)

DUT Application Fees for 2025/2026 Entry

DUT Application Fees for the 2025/2026 academic year are as follows:

Durban University of Technology (DUT) Admission Requirements 2025/2026

The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a minimum of 30% in the language of learning and teaching of the higher education institution as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi).

Institutional and programme needs may require appropriate combinations of recognized NSC subjects and levels of achievement. For example, an institution may determine that a Higher Certificate in Architectural Design requires in addition to the NSC a specified level of attainment in Design and an associated recognized subject.
