  • The National Senior Certificate “NSC”
  • National Certificate Vocational “NCV”
  • N6 certificate
  • If available, current grade 12 learners must upload Grade 11 final results and first-quarter or mid-year results.
  • Post-matric candidates must upload a matric or equivalent certificate, academic record, copy of ID, or passport.

Please Note: Some departments may consider a mature age exemption for admission for some programmes.

How to Apply Online for Medunsa University 2026

To apply online:

  • Enter https://www.smu.ac.za to apply
  • Get an online application form
  • Fill in the online application form with the information required. Asterisks (*) are indicated on the REQUIRED/COMPULSORY Field. Forfeiting any of those will render your application void.
  • Choose your Course after examining the specific course requirements. This stage is very key to gaining admission into this University. Download the prospectus
  • To specify the names of your first and second choice degrees (if applicable)
  • Pay the R300 non-refundable application fee
  • Upload the supporting documents. Check the list below:
    • Certified copies of your ID/passport;
    • Grade 11/12 results; academic record (if you have attended other universities including SMU)
    •  proof of payment of the non-refundable application fee.
  • Submit your completed online application form and documents. Review to ensure the right thing is done before clicking on the Button.

To track the status of your application:

  • Go to www.smu.ac.za
  • Enter your Login details (Student Number and PIN)
  • Click on LOGIN to check your status.
  • To download and print your admission letter, go to the Admission Letter section.

Registration for 2026 at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University
