The following are the general eligibility criteria for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).

Applicant must be a South African Citizen
Applicant must have an income of not more than R350,000 per year
Applicant must have a valid email and cell phone number
Applicant must be a SASSA recipient
Applicant must be studying at an approved Tvet College
Disabled applicants with an income of not more than R600 000 per annum.
