The Stellenbosch University application period for 2024–2025 is now formally open. According to Stellenbosch, applications for 2024–2025 are accepted from April 3–January 26, 2024. Hard copies or manual applications will not be accepted for the 2024–2025 school year; instead, applications must be submitted online at www.student.sun.ac.za/signup.

How much is the Stellenbosch University Application fee for 2024/2025

International applicants are exempted from paying handling or application fees. However, South African undergraduates or postgraduates must pay an application fee of R100 and upload the receipt during the online application. Students applying to the Stellenbosch University Business School are also exempted from the fee. Remember there is no hard copy Application.

What are the Required Documents for 2024/2025 Applications

Applicants must submit the following documents according to their qualifications or country of origin before the closing dates.

Academic documents we need if you are in your final school year:

South Africa Applicants

Final grade 11 results as per the Department of Education guidelines.
National Senior Certificate (NSC) or IEB/Statement of Symbols of final school results

International Applicants

Grade 11 results (pre-final) and final-year school subjects with levels.
Final school results from the International Curriculum (Cambridge International, International Baccalaureate, etc.), including School of Tomorrow.

Non-academic documents

The student support form applies to only Students with disabilities who need additional support.

Proof of payment (R100 nonrefundable application fee) if you pay offline
Proof of permanent residency, refugee, or asylum-seeking status

How to Apply Stellenbosch University (SU) Online Application Form 2024/2025

Follow these easy steps to apply online to study at SU for the 2024/2025 academic year.:

Visit http://www.sun.ac.za/, the Stellenbosch University application website.
Click the “Students” tab on the page’s top menu.
Choose your qualification.
Investigate your program options. Up to three programs from any faculty are open to you.
Make sure you fulfill the requirements for the program you have chosen.
Select “Apply” from the tabs. You must apply by the deadline.
Complete your online application form. You will need an e-mail address and phone number so that SU can contact you
As soon as you create your profile, you can follow the system prompts to proceed with your online application immediately.
Upload all the supporting documents
Please take your time filling out the application and offer SU accurate information.
Send your application in.

What’s next after the submission

You will receive an e-mail that confirms that the university has received your application. All the emails sent to you will also be available on the Applicant Portal.
The university will contact you using the email address and phone number you provided to let you know whether your application has been successful.

What are the minimum academic requirements for a bachelor’s degree?

30% for a South African Language of Learning and Teaching (English or Afrikaans), and an achievement rating of 4 (50% – 59%) in four 20-credit subjects.
