SU Registration Closing Dates 2023/2024

The deadline for submitting an online registration to Stellenbosch University for the academic year 2023–2024 has been made public for both South African and outside applicants. Please use this opportunity to apply; it is available to all candidates.

This registration period is for the shortest period hence registrants must as early as possible register for their semester courses for the 2023 academic year.

Stellenbosch University registration schedules for the 2023 academic year

  • Start of online registration for undergraduate senior and postgraduate students: 17 January 2023
  • Start of online registration for newcomer first-year students: 26 January 2023
  • On-campus registration (NARGA) of newcomer first-years on Stellenbosch campus: 7 – 8 February 2023
  • On-campus registration for senior students on the Stellenbosch campus: 8 – 10 February 2023
  • Conclusion of registration for all students (excluding M and D students): 10 February 2023
  • Final day for late registration for undergraduate and postgraduate students (excluding M and D students): 25 February 2023

Get these documents for your registration in 2023

  1. The advice on Results of the 2022 NSC or IEB final school-leaving examination.
  2. NSC or IEB candidates who matriculated in 2022 or earlier: National Senior Certificate.
  3.  School-leaving certificate/s and certificate of university exemption issued by the SA Matriculation Board.
  4. Candidates who studied at other universities must submit an academic transcript/record and certificate of good conduct issued by the university concerned.
  5. If you are not a South African citizen, you must submit additional supporting documents electronically to intpreregistration@sun.ac.za (include your student number on each document) in order to obtain pre-registration clearance as follows:
  • Certified copy of your valid passport
  • Certified copy of your valid study visa or proof of Permanent Residence in South Africa;
  • Proof of South African medical aid (for study visa-holders);
  • Proof of payment (scholarships/bursaries must be authorized by SU International’s financial administrators)
