UJ 2026 Late Applications Now Open โ Apply Online Before the Deadline
The University of Johannesburg (UJ) has officially opened its late application portal for the 2026 academic year. This opportunity is for prospective students who wish to apply for available courses at UJ or change their study programme for the 2026 intake.
UJ Late Application Dates for 2026
The UJ 2026 late-application period will open on 16 January 2026 (20:00) and close on 21 January 2026 (14:00). All applications must be completed online through the official UJ Late Application System during this time frame.
Important Notice โ No Walk-ins
The University of Johannesburg will not accept any walk-in applications for 2026. All submissions must be made digitally. Applicants are encouraged to have stable internet access and all supporting documents ready before applying.
Who Can Apply?
Only programmes with available space will be open for late applications. Admission will be considered for applicants who meet the minimum entrance requirements for their chosen course. The University of Johannesburg (UJ) advises all applicants to regularly monitor programme availability, as spaces tend to fill up quickly.
Both domestic and international applicants are eligible to apply for late admission, including those who do not yet have a UJ student number.

How to Apply

Visit the official University of Johannesburg (UJ) website at www.uj.ac.za.

Click on the โLate Applications 2026โ link.

Log in using your existing UJ student profile or create a new account if you donโt have one.

Enter your UJ student number, Grade 12 examination number, or South African ID number, then click โSubmit.โ

Verify your personal information carefully and click the โConfirmโ button to continue.

The system will automatically verify your application and display the programmes (qualifications) for which you qualify and where there is still space available.

Select the faculty or college of your choice.

Review the list of available qualifications and choose the one that interests you.

If you are satisfied with your selection, click โSubmit an Inquiry.โ

If you wish to choose a different qualification, click โMake a Different Selectionโ to restart the process.

Enter your mobile phone number and click โSubmit.โ

Complete any remaining sections of the online form and upload all required supporting documents.

Finally, submit your application before 21 January 2026 (14:00).
Remember the following:
- If you haven’t applied to UJ, the system will tell you if you are eligible for any of the available qualifications.
- If you have previously applied to UJ for the academic year 2025, the system will show you the status of your application for the qualification(s) you have applied for.
- If you have a favorable application status and are satisfied with your qualifying selection, go to registration information to learn more about the registration process (please note that only applicants with an admitted status will be allowed to continue with registration).
- Click the Change Qualification button if you’re unhappy with your current qualification.
