Is WSU still open for late applications 2024/2025

The closing date for submitting all admissions applications to Walter Sisulu University for the academic year 2024–2025 has been announced. This implies that every applicant who has not yet submitted their application forms must do so right away. This year, Walter Sisulu University is open till October 31.

The Walter Sisulu University (WSU) has recently informed all prospective students that the application season would complete by the end of October this year for the academic year 2024–2025. Any students interested in submitting should do so as soon as they can before the Walter Sisulu University deadline because it is nearly impossible to submit an application after the deadline.

In November of the current year, Walter Sisulu University will accept late applications.

 

WSU Application Dates for 2024-2025

Walter Sisulu University online applications are expected to open from April to 31 October 2024. All applicants for either undergraduate or postgraduate courses must do well to apply between April 01 and 31 October 2024. Late applications will however be open for those who will not meet this initial close date for this year in the Month of November this year. Late applications at Walter Sisulu will be limited to the number of courses still available after the general closing date for the 2024-2025 academic year

 

 

How to Apply Walter Sisulu University (WSU) Online Application Form 2024/2025

The majority of the admissions process for WSU’s undergraduate and graduate programs is completed online. Please follow these instructions:

  1. Enter the website of wsu: www.wsu.ac.za
  2. Click on the study with us
  3. Select application package
  4. Complete the application by following the instructions
  5. Confirmation of receipt of the application is issued automatically once the process is completed.
  6. Then, Upload all relevant supporting documents

Students who are from another tertiary institution may apply and submit the following documents:

  • Matric Certificate
  • Post-Matric Certificate
  • Identity Document
  • Official Academic Report
  • Conduct Certificate.

New Applicants

The following certificates are accepted to be uploaded during the online application

  • The “Old Senior” certificate
  • The National Senior Certificate “NSC”
  • National Certificate Vocational “NCV”
  • N6 certificate
  • Current grade 12 learners must upload Grade 11 final results and first quarter or mid-year results if available.
  • Post-matric candidates must upload a matric or equivalent certificate, academic record, copy of ID, or passport.
  1. Some departments may consider mature age exemption for admission for some programmes. For more information, you may enquire from the Admissions Office at supportappl@wsu.ac.za.

International Applicants

  • A copy of the Result Slips
  • A copy of the applicant’s passport’s front page

Please note: Applicant will need to first apply to Universities South Africa (Usaf) for evaluation of school results or other degree/diploma certificates.

 

WSU Admission Requirements 2024/2025 late applications

Undergraduate

The general requirement for admission to study for a degree qualification is a matriculation exemption certificate, or a National Senior Certificate endorsed for degree admission.

The standard requirement for admission to study a diploma or certificate qualification is a school leaving certificate with a minimum aggregate symbol E-S, or National Senior Certificate endorsed for diploma/certificate admission.

Please note: All students will be required to satisfy any additional criteria prescribed by Senate and/or the Faculties concerned.

Postgraduate

To study for a postgraduate degree qualification, the general requirement for admission is possession of a preceding degree, (e.g. first degree for Honours studies, Honours degree or equivalent for Master’s studies, and Master’s degree for doctoral studies). The preceding degree must have been passed at an acceptable level.

Other Requirements

Applicants with the following qualifications from FET/TVET colleges and/or other technical colleges or institutions may apply: An N3 with four subjects passed with at least 40% each, plus two official languages: one of these to be English and to be passed at least on First or Second Language SG or; N4 with four subjects passed with at least 50% each, provided the person can prove communication competence in the language of instruction (English)
