When to Apply
The Umfolozi TVET College Applications window opens in August of the year before your intended start date. For the January 2026 intake, you’ll need to apply between August 1st and September 30th, 2025, as the deadline is usually at the end of September.
How to Apply
Umfolozi TVET College accepts both direct and indirect applications via the Central Applications Office (CAO). In either case, you are required to complete the following assessments.

How to Apply for Admission to Umfolozi Tvet College
Please keep in mind that this screening is required and this is the first of the application process
Step 1: Placement Exam
- Enter the URL https://learnerprofiler.co.za/?c=umfo21stl
- Because this is your first visit, please create an account.
- When you sign up for an account, you will be asked to choose a campus and a course.
- Please provide your contact details.
- Create a secure password (use alphanumeric and symbols)
- Accept the terms and sign up.
- Enter your password and begin the questionnaire.
- Do not leave any questions unanswered. You will have 15 minutes to answer about 90 YES OR NO questions.
- After you’ve finished answering the questions, click Submit.
- Maintain the security of your password.
Step 2: Academic Registration
- Prospective applicants must first register their profile by accepting the admission terms and conditions.
- Following that, enter your ID and password.
- Before proceeding, check the permission box confirming your eligibility to use the portal.
- To generate your student number, complete the remaining steps in the following two steps.
- To continue the application process and upload supporting documents, log in with your student number.
- Select your program.
