UWC Admission Entry Requirement For 2026

University of the Western Cape (UWC) Admission Requirement 2025-2026

The application to study at the University of the Western Cape is now open for the 2026 academic intake, but you must satisfy certain requirements to gain admission. While meeting the entry requirements is crucial for applying to the University of the Western Cape, it doesn’t guarantee admission. You must meet the deadlines, and academic entry criteria, and submit all required documents

Application Deadline to Meet

Are you ready to take the next step? The application window is accessible online from April 2 until September 30, 2025! Submit your applications on time; certain courses will close before the September deadline.

Application Documents to be Submitted

Here are the documents you’ll need to submit during your online application to the University of the Western Cape (UWC):

International Students

  • A certified copy of your passport or Refugee Permit.
  • High School Qualifications
  • Confirmation Letter from USAF
  • Apply for Exemption with USAF
  • Submit your final school results to Universities South Africa (USAf) for evaluation

Current Matriculants

(You are in Grade 12 in 2025). You are not required to submit any documentation

Post-Matric Learners (Already Matriculated)

If you have already written the NSC examination, you need to submit the following:

  • NSC Certificate or Senior Certificate
  • Identification document

Transfer Students (Applying from Another Institution)

If you are transferring from another institution of higher learning, you need to submit certified copies of the following:

  • NSC Certificate or Senior Certificate
  • Identification document
  • Conduct Certificate from your institution
  • Official Academic Transcript
  • Module content / Yearbook descriptor from your institution for all modules completed
  • Degree certificate (if applicable)

Students Applying for Readmission to UWC

If you have studied at UWC previously and are seeking readmission after a break, you need to provide:

  • Letter of motivation to be considered for readmission to your respective faculty
  • Certified copy of your NSC certificate or Senior Certificate
  • Certified copy of your identification document
  • Proof of any studies with academic records (if applicable)
  • Proof of any improvements to your NSC results (if applicable)
  • Affidavit with a brief description of activities post-matric/NSC

Remember:

  • All copies must be certified by a commissioner of oaths or other authorized official.

To gain admission to study at UWC, you need to meet the following entry requirements

Minimum UWC Points:

  • Most programs: 30 points
  • Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy: 39 points
