When Can I Apply For NWU Applications 2027
North-West University (NWU) online applications for the 2027 academic year are now open. Prospective students are invited to apply for undergraduate, postgraduate, and distance learning programmes, regardless of ethnicity or religious background.

What documents will North-West University require when accepting applications in 2027
The following supporting documentation must be submitted with every application by all applicants:
- Grade 12 results, Grade 11 results (final results only)
- copy of your matric certificate – if you have already passed matric.
- Copy of an Applicant’s Identity document
- Copy of Applicant’s academic record (if applicable).
- Applicants currently upgrading their grade 12 results, will only be considered after the improved results are presented to the NWU.
- Applicants who follow Cambridge, GED, or any other non-NSC curriculum, or who may qualify for exemption based on advanced age or post-school qualifications, must provide an exemption certificate as issued by USAF.Â

How to Apply Online to NWU
Follow the steps below to apply online to the North-West University for the 2027 academic intake:
Step 1. Claim Your NWU Identity (STUDENT NUMBER):
- Visit the NWU online application platform.
- Click “New application” and choose “Create new student number.”
- Fill in all required fields to activate your unique NWU ID.
Step 2. Unlock Your Student Portal:
- Combine your student number and PIN (received in step 1) to log in.
Step 3. Log in and Explore Your Course Options:
- Use your student number and PIN to access your application portal.
- Explore the diverse range of programs offered by browsing through the yearbooks.

Step 4. Showcase Your Qualifications (Prepare Your Supporting Documents)
Undergraduate Applicants:
- Upload final grade 11 and 12 results (or matriculation certificate if applicable).

Postgraduate Applicants:
- Submit a filled undertaking form, your ID, and relevant academic records.
