Great news! The Central University of Technology is now accepting applications for undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the 2026 academic intake. The application window is open from April 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025, for both new and returning students. There is no processing fee required for the application
When to Apply For 2026
Submitting your supporting documents on time greatly enhances your chances of admission to the Central University of Technology (CUT) for 2026. You are required to complete and submit the application form along with all supporting documents by September 30, 2025, regardless of your location.
What you need:
- Completed online application form
- Recently certified copies (within the last year) of:
- Identity document
- National Senior Certificate (or equivalent)
- Highest academic results
Remember: Applying is FREE for all! Don’t let finances hold you back.
Documents Needed to Apply
All applicants should provide the following supporting documents for application:
- Current matriculants
Upload your final Grade 11 results or June results - Already Matriculated applicants:
Upload your ID or passport and senior certificate or higher - Higher Qualifications than matric:
- Upload your ID
- Senior Certificate.
- Your qualification(s)
- Study record

How to Apply to the University of Technology CUT
Here are a few extra details to aid you with your application. Follow the advice listed below for a successful application:
- Log onto the official website @www.cut.ac.za
- On the menu bar, click on the student tab and select Prospective student
- Click on the application process after scrolling down the page
- On the left side of the page select the new application tab
- Click on New Applications
- New applicants, read carefully. Compulsory fields. Must complete proceeding.
- There is a document on this page, read it and Accept it to proceed.
- Biographical data is all about you. Enter the data exactly as it is in your SA ID or Passport – no exceptions.
- Make sure the university has the correct information.
- Continue with the application process. Complete the information on the screen and click next.
- You can upload your certificate manually or could be automatically uploaded if you have completed your Grade 12. To manually add, click Add Subject and continue to add each subject.
- Provide your educational information at this stage
- Indicate your Qualification: Where, when, and what subjects have you completed
- Choose your desired course at this point after assessing the requirements (2 options, First and second choice)
- Review the information carefully. Go back and correct any errors. It is important to do this now. Upload the required documents after this step. Without documents, your application is
incomplete. - Review the upload. Yes indicates that you have uploaded successfully.
- A student number is generated. Keep your student number safe.
- You will need it to log in and follow up on the application.
- Click Submit Application. Enter the programme you are applying to study and click Search
- Click on the programme code (in blue) to add the programme to your profile.
- Click View Completed Application(s) and verify the programme is indeed added.
- A notification will be e–mailed that your application profile has been updated.
