Document Requirements for WSU 2026 Applications

You will require the documents listed below based on your current educational status.

The “Old Senior” certificate
The National Senior Certificate “NSC”
National Certificate Vocational “NCV”
N6 certificate
If available, current grade 12 learners must upload Grade 11 final results and first-quarter or mid-year results.
Post-matric candidates must upload a matric or equivalent certificate, academic record, copy of ID, or passport.

Please Note: Some departments may consider a mature age exemption for admission for some programmes.

How to Apply Online for Walter Sisulu University 2026

To apply online:

Visit the website: www.wsu.ac.za (Tablet, laptop, and any other smart device can perform this duty. Do not Use mobile phone)
Click on the STUDY WITH US tab on the menu bar of the main page of Walter Sisulu University (WSU)
Select the application package and begin your application
Complete the application by following the instructions
Confirmation of receipt of the application is issued automatically once the process is completed and submitted.
Then, Upload all relevant supporting documents in their right format

How to Check Your WSU Application Status

To track the status of your application:

Go to the WSU website at www.wsu.ac.za
Click on “STUDY WITH US” in the menu bar.
Select and click on the “APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION” link.
Select and click on the “APPLY HERE” link.
You will be directed to the “Student Admission Tracking” page.
Enter your Student Number/Username.
Enter your PIN/password.
Click on “LOG IN” to track your 2026 application

Registration for 2026 at Walter Sisulu University

Online registration for the 2026 academic year will open to all new students accepted for the intake. The registration period typically runs from January to February of the year of study. When you receive an offer to study at WSU, make sure you have your registration fee and supporting documentation ready.
