BCC Application dates for 2024/2025 admissions: Candidates are encouraged to begin their online application with Buffalo as soon as it opens on September 1 and closes on November 2023. In order to be considered for the year 2024/2025, applicants are encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible due to the restricted number of openings.
Online Application Instructions
- All new applicants must complete the Placement Screening Test before applying. The college will not process applications without doing a placement screening test first.
- You can apply online by visiting the Buffalo City College Online Application portal @https://bccollege.co.za
- Applicants can also visit the campus of the college to book an online application session.
- Applicants can apply for NSFAS Funding or can search for other available bursaries.
- You can use either your smartphone, tablet, or computer to apply online via the student i-Enabler, using your PIN and student number to log on
- Applicants should apply for admission for the current level and the next level of your application
- Make sure you upload all the required documents and pay the necessary fees.
Application procedure for 2024/2025
The following steps or procedures are meant to guide all prospective applicants for a successful online application.
Step 1: Doing the Placement Test @ https://learnerprofiler.co.za/?c=buf21stl
Stage 1: Create an account as a fresh applicant
Screening Test: The placement test is the first stage in the admissions application process. All applicants interested in applying for admission to the college must complete this. The applicant administers this test; a third party is not involved. Selecting a course of study is the objective of this. Allowing a third party could result in you receiving something you don’t want.
Once registered, the candidate is required to complete all fields in the pre-entry area.
To fulfill each condition, click on the corresponding button. Even if you have no understanding of what the inquiry is about, you must nonetheless provide an answer. A single question cannot be skipped.
The Finish button is located at the end of the test. Click on this to end the test
Step 2: Apply with Buffalo City College now
- Visit the Buffalo City College Online Application portal by clicking on https://bccollege.co.za/
- On the page click on “Apply Now”
- On the right side of the new page click on “Apply Now” again.
- From the Comprehensive Web Page, new applicants should select “No” from the drop box option.
- A new drop box will appear and new applicants should select “No” from the options, and read and accept the POPI clause to commence the application process.
- Choose your course and ensure you meet the requirement of the chosen courses
- Upload the required documents. These documents must be scanned into pdf format before uploading.
- Submit the fully completed application form by clicking on the submit button.
Entry Requirements
NC(V) Applicants: For entry into any National Certificate programme at NQF Level 2, you are required to have:
- A year-end school report for Grade 9, 10, 11, or 12, or
- An NQF Level 1 qualification, or
- An approved bridging programme designed for the specific purpose to access NQF Level 2, or
- A Recognition of Prior Learning (RLP) assessment to meet the basic requirements for access to NQF Level 2.
REPORT 191 Applicants: Minimum entrance requirements as aligned by the NATED Policy.
- Students who have passed Grade 12/NC (V) Level 4 will be admitted to N4.
- Students who have passed grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 who want to pursue an artisan career will be admitted to N1 based on a point system
