NSFAS Application Period For 2025
You can submit an NSFAS funding 2025 application beginning September 20th, 2024. All applicants have until December 15, 2024, to submit all application materials, which include a fully completed online application form. Late submissions will not be accepted after the deadline, so send them as soon as possible.

How to Apply For NSFAS Bursary
You can submit an online application from your computer, tablet, or smartphone via www.nsfas.org.za. To apply, follow these simple steps:
- I: Go to www.nsfas.org.za and click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab.
- II: Create a myNSFAS account
- III: Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab and complete the sections on the screen
- IV: Upload required supporting documents where applicable in their right format
- V: Click on ‘Submit’
Supporting Documents Required:
If applying online, the following documents must be scanned into PDF format and uploaded separately. Please include an active phone number and a valid email address.
- A copy of your ID or birth certificate is required.
- Copies of parents’, guardians’, or spouse’s national identification cards
- If necessary, proof of income or a year’s worth of IRP5
- Your parents’, guardians’, or spouse’s proof of income.
- You do not need to present any proof of income if you are a SASSA grant recipient.
- A completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form should be provided and submitted by all disabled applicants.
- An applicant identified by the Department of Social Development as a Vulnerable Child must also submit a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.

NSFAS Coverage 2025:
Applicants who are approved for NSFAS funding are covered for:
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees
After your funding is confirmed, you may also receive allowances for the following:
- Living allowance
- Learning Material
- Personal Care
- Accommodation or Transport
When to Expect feedback on your application
Once NSFAS has received confirmation from the Institution that an academic offer has been given to you, application results will be shared with all applicants. Before the start of the academic year, you will be informed of this via SMS, email, and your myNSFAS account.

Create Your myNSFAS Account
You need to create myNSFAS account before you start the application process. Follow these steps to create one now
- Visit www.nsfas.org.za and select the myNSFAS link from the menu.
- Select register. Selecting this option will allow NSFAS to examine and verify the data you have supplied.
- Enter your ID number exactly as it is listed on your ID document.
- Put your first and last names exactly as they are on your ID document.
- Your email and phone numbers should be entered. Your email address will serve as your username.
- Make a password, then double-check it.
- Publish a picture of your ID.
- Select register.
- A One Time Password (OTP) will be emailed to the entered email address and mobile phone number when you click “Register.”
- For the OTP, check your email and cell phone.
- Enter the OTP in the corresponding tab and hit submit.
- A second SMS and email verifying the creation of your myNSFAS account will then be sent to you. Now that your application is open, you may continue.
