We are pleased to announce that the University of South Africa, affectionately known as UNISA, will open its 2026 application window for undergraduate programmes in August 2025. As a result, anyone wishing to apply is encouraged to prepare ahead of the opening date to alleviate pressure and avoid internet congestion.

You are invited to apply to the University of South Africa undergraduate Program for the 2026 academic intake. Take note of the following details:

Undergraduate studies: 18 August to 10 October 2025 at 00:00 AM
Where to Apply
All UNISA 2026 applications must be completed online at www.unisa.ac.za, with no exceptions for any course.
Application fee
All prospective first-time UNISA students are required to make a non-refundable application payment of R150. This amount must be paid after receiving a student number, following the submission of your fully completed online application form
What You Need to Apply
You need to have the following items:
- A smart device (computer, tablet, or smartphone)
- A stable internet connection
- Scanned copies of all certified documents
- A valid email address that you can access regularly
- Your South African ID or passport (for international applicants)
Documents Requirements
Please ensure you have the following documents
Republic of South African Applicants
- A Certified Copy of the Senior Certificate or National Senior Certificate
- A Certified Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
- A Certified Copy of your ID document
- A Certified Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
- Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
Non-Republic of South African Applicants
- Copy of your school qualifications.
- Copy of your tertiary academic qualifications (if applicable)
- Copy of your passport
- Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
- Original sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
- M30 form – Application for a Certificate of Conditional Exemption (ONLY for admission to bachelor degree studies) (PDF 157KB) and supporting documents if you are applying for a certificate of exemption

- Each file must be under 2MB
- Scan all your documents in black and whiteare accepted

How to Apply to Unisa 2026
As indicated earlier, all submissions must be done online. To do so, follow the steps below:
- Go to www.unisa.ac.za to get started
- Click on “Admissions in the menu bar.
- Select “Apply for Admission”
- Carefully read all instructions
- Click “Start the Process”
- Enter your national identity number
- Tick the POPI Act consent box
- Fill in your details
- Enter your address information
- Indicate if you have a disability
- Click “Next” after each section
- Choose your qualification type
- Select up to two study courses
- Enter your academic background (institutions, results)
- Complete all required fields
- Upload all required documents
- Click review and go through the information
- Click “APPLY” to finalize the applications
