The University of Johannesburg (UJ) will start taking applications for the 2026 academic year on April 1, 2025. The general deadline for completing and submitting applications for prospective undergraduate and graduate students is October 31, 2025. Because UJ is one of the universities covered by the NSFAS bursary program, you may be eligible for funding if you apply.

UJ Online Application For 2025-2026
To apply to the University of Johannesburg for 2026 admissions, follow the steps below:
- Access the internet on your device (laptop, computer, mobile, tablet).
- Go to www.uj.ac.za/Apply.
- Select “New Applicant” if it’s your first time applying.
- Enter your student number and indicate if you’re completing a previous application.
- Provide the qualification token if required.
- Accept the terms by checking “I Accept.”
- Click “Next” to proceed.
- Enter your passport or ID number and personal details.
- Click “Save and Continue.”
- Choose your qualification.
- Complete all required fields.
- Upload documents in the required formats.

- English Proficiency For Undergraduate programs, proof of IELTS with an overall score of 6 and TOEFL with an average score of 80–104 is required. This applies to those whose high school courses were taught in a language other than English.

Phase 1:
- Choose between options 1 and 2 for your qualification study. (please make sure you satisfy the requirements of the selected courses.)
Phase 2:
- Complete the application form and pay the application fee of R200 if you are applying for the first time.
Phase 3:
- Submit your application to one of the University of Jacksonville’s four campuses. Please wait three weeks before contacting us to inquire about the status of your application. If your application satisfies the minimum standards and space is available in your desired program, you will be notified if your application was successful or not.
- Hardcopy applicants will receive either a final or deferred status within 5 working days
UJ Application Fee for 2026
Applicants submitting a paper application must pay a non-refundable fee of R200.00 at FNB Client Services into the UJ account (Account number: 626 158 73280, Branch code: 210-554).
