UFS Online Application 2027 Login Now Open

The University of the Free State (UFS) online application portal for 2027 is now open. Prospective students are encouraged to submit their applications through the official portal. Applying early ensures your application is processed on time. All undergraduate and postgraduate programs across all UFS campuses can be applied for online.

Application Dates for 2027

If you plan to begin your studies at the University of the Free State in 2027, be sure to follow the application timeline below to stay on track.

  • Opening Date: Wednesday, April 1, 2026 (All programmes)
  • Closing Date (South African applicants): Wednesday, September 30, 2026
  • Closing Date (International applicants): Monday, August 31, 2026

Before You Apply – Important Guidelines

  • Check Eligibility: Confirm you meet the minimum requirements in the 2027 Undergraduate or Postgraduate Prospectus.
  • Documents Required: Upload scanned copies of all supporting documents in PDF or JPG format. Originals must be stamped by your school, institution, notary public, or Commissioner of Oaths.
  • Grade 12 Students: Provide school-stamped copies of your Grade 11 and June Grade 12 results. If rewriting exams, submit combined results.
  • Transfers: Declare previous studies and upload transcripts, certificates, and a conduct certificate.
  • GED Not Accepted: UFS does not recognize GED certificates for undergraduate programs.

Note: Online self-service results will not be accepted. All supporting documents must be officially certified.

Apply online by following the steps below:

  • Go to the UFS online application portal: www.apply.ufs.ac.za
  • Click “Apply” then select “New Application.”
  • Enter your email address and create a login
  • Fill in your personal details exactly as they appear on your documents
  • Enter your student number (if reapplying)
  • Upload all required supporting documents
  • Agree to the terms and conditions
  • Review and submit your application
  • You will receive an application acknowledgment and a student ID number

Incomplete applications or missing documents will delay processing.

  • Navigate to Students → KovsieLife → Student Self Service
  • Log in using your student number and password
  • Click “View Application” to track the status of your application
