The University of Johannesburg (UJ) is currently accepting applications for the 2026 academic year. The application is accessible to all students, both local and international. However, you must know when you may apply and when the portal will officially close so that you can organize your application correctly

Required Documents for UJ Applications

For South African Students:

Certified copy of your ID
Grade 12 certificate or latest results (Grade 11 if still in Grade 12)
Valid email address and phone number

For International Students:

Certified copy of your passport
Study Visa (if applicable)
Proof of English proficiency (e.g., IELTS or TOEFL scores)
Medical report

UJ Application Fee

Online Applications: Free of charge
Manual Applications: A non-refundable R200 fee is required. Make sure to include your payment receipt when submitting a paper application.

How to Apply Online at UJ

To apply to UJ, follow these steps:

Go to www.uj.ac.za/Apply.
Select “New Applicant” if you’re applying for the first time.
Indicate your student number and whether you’re completing a previous application.
Enter the qualification token if needed.
Read and accept the terms by checking “I Accept.”
Click “Next” to proceed.
Enter your passport or ID number.
Enter your details
Click “Save and Continue” to move to the next page.
Choose your qualification.
Complete all required fields
Upload your documents in the required formats.
Submit your application.
