Applications for undergraduate and graduate programs at Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) are now open and available for the 2025–2026 academic year. The general deadline for applications is September 30, 2024, with the application process opening on April 1, 2024. Interested candidates who want to study at MUT have to apply online between April 1 and September 30, 2024, via the Central Application Office (CAO) application site at www.cao.ac.za. Please take immediate action as there are courses with earlier application deadlines.

Process of applying Online 2025/2026 via cao website
To apply for admission at Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) via the Central Applications Office, you must complete the procedures below:
- Visit the official website @ cao.ac.za and select “Apply.”
- After reading the details, press “Continue with Application.“
- Enter your ID number and click on ‘Submit’
- Click ‘Continue with Application‘ at the bottom of the page after you have scrolled there.
- Start by entering ALL of the required information.
- After you have completed all the required fields, click “Next.” “Continue with Online Application” should be clicked.
- You’ll see your CAO number, password, and EasyPay number in a pop-up window. Read the guidelines.
- “Continue with Online Application” should be clicked.
- After carefully reading the instructions and submitting ALL necessary information, click “Next.”
- Click “Next” after filling out the “Next of Kin” information.
- Once the school’s name is displayed in a box, you must enter the years that you first enrolled there and when you graduated from it before clicking “Search.”
- Choose “Next.”
- NOW THAT YOUR APPLICATION HAS BEEN SENT, CLICK THE BUTTON WHEN “Process My Application” IS VISIBLE.
- When your submission is successful, a notification will appear on your screen.
- Now that you can pay online and upload your supporting documentation.
- pay using EasyPay.

International Applicants

- A valid medical aid/health insurance cover
- A valid passport
- GCE, GCSE, IGCSE, or Cambridge School Certificate
- Students holding a GCE GCSE IGCSE or the Cambridge School Certificate must have passed five approved ordinary-level subjects including the English language provided three subjects have been passed at the same examination sitting.
Minimum Entrance Requirements
- National Senior Certificate with a diploma pass or N3 with a 50% pass in Mathematics and English
- A minimum of 5 subjects with level 4 pass for diploma study and level 3 for Access Courses
- English Home Language or First Additional Language, level 4 pass
- Specific subject combination and pass level relevant to the qualification
- Minimum points as per faculty requirements and as listed on the CAO handbook
