Rhodes University is currently accepting undergraduate and graduate applications for the 2026 academic year from all interested candidates. Mode of Applications

Rhodes University provides two convenient application options: the online application, which is the fastest and most efficient method through the dedicated admissions portal, and the manual application, where you download, fill out, and submit the form along with required documents to the admissions office

Who Can Apply

South African applicants can apply as either Government-Sponsored or Private candidates, depending on their funding situation. Rhodes University also welcomes international applicants who meet the admission requirements and arrange their funding. The application deadline for the 2026 academic year applies to all applicants.

Application Deadline for the 2026 Academic Year

All applicants, regardless of nationality, must submit their applications by November 30, 2025, to be considered for admission to Rhodes University for the 2026 academic year. The application period runs from April 1 to November 30, 2025, and submissions must include an R100 application fee.

How to Apply Online to Rhodes University

  • Visit www.ross.ru.ac.za and click “Application.”
  • Register with your email address and create a unique password.
  • Check your inbox for the activation email and click the link to confirm your account.
  • Log in to ROSS and select the appropriate option to apply
  • Complete the application form and review/accept the terms and conditions.
  • Pay the R100 application fee using the provided options.
  • If using a bank transfer, email the deposit slip with your application number as reference to registrar@ru.ac.za.
  • Once submitted, your application will be processed.
  • After successful submission, you’ll receive a student number and login details to access ROSS and explore your academic options.
