CUT 2027 Applications Open – How to Apply for Undergraduate Studies

The Central University of Technology, Free State, invites applications from prospective undergraduate, transfer, and international students who wish to study for the 2027 academic year.

The CUT online application system will open to the public from 1 May 2026 until 30 September 2026. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications early to avoid missing out on limited programme spaces.

When to Apply for CUT Undergraduate Qualifications

The CUT 2027 undergraduate application period is expected to run as follows:

  • Opening date: 1 May 2026
  • Closing date: 30 September 2026

Late or incomplete applications may not be considered. Some programmes, particularly those in engineering or health sciences, may close earlier due to high demand.

CUT Undergraduate Admission Requirements

Applicants must meet the minimum admission requirements before they can be considered for any programme.

General Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A National Senior Certificate (NSC) or equivalent qualification
  • A minimum Admission Point Score (APS) of 27 points
  • At least 50% in English, which is the language of instruction at CUT

Additional subject requirements may apply depending on the programme selected.

Higher Certificate

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC) required
  • Minimum APS as determined by the programme

Diploma
