An international student seeking admission to the IIUM must meet both the General Requirements and the additional course requirements. The general requirements for IIUM are listed below. Students must meet any of the following requirements.

  • At least three (3) principal passes in the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level Examination, conducted by the UK Educational System, were obtained in one attempt.
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum of six subjects obtained in one attempt.
  • Any other equivalent qualification in the required field as recognized by the Senate of the IIUM University.
  • Except for the Bachelor of Arabic, Arts, Medicine, or Pharmacy, all undergraduate courses require mathematics.
  • The candidate may have to undergo an interview or entrance test as per the course applied for
  • In the case of a bachelor of Medicine and Pharmacy, three (3) principal passes in the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level Examination, must include – Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics
  • In the case of a Bachelor of Engineering, three principal passes in the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level Examination, must include –Physics and Mathematics.
