Eligibility criteria for Online admissions for the 2023/2024 academic year
Despite the fact that the application is open to the public, the university does not expect applications from a specific demographic. Typically, the application period is open to both first-time candidates (local or international) and those whose previous applications were rejected. It costs money to apply to the University of Kebangsan Malaysia UKM. It is not free for any applicant throughout the academic year. The fees are as follows:

How to Apply to the University of Kebangsan Malaysia (UKM) in 2023/2024

- Applicants must use their Identity Card/Passport, password, and email address to register through this system.
- Before submitting an application, applicants should review the list of available programs.
- To submit the entire application, applicants must click the SEND button.
- After submitting an application through this online system, applicants DO NOT HAVE TO SEND ANY DOCUMENTS BY POST.
- Pay the processing fee as stated above.
- Applicants should periodically check the application status via the online portal (using their own identity card/passport and password).
Please Note: The University of Kebangsan Malaysia (UKM) will not process incomplete application forms or applications that do not include the processing fee.
University of Kebangsan Malaysia (UKM) Entry Requirements
International Applicants
If you are not a citizen of Malaysia, then you need to comply with the following requirements
- Complete 12 years of Primary and High School education; and
- Obtain High School Certificate (e.g. Higher Secondary Certificate, Senior Secondary School Graduation Certificate, Tawjihiyah, Ijazah Sekolah Menengah Atas, High School Diploma); and
- Meet the minimum English requirement set by faculty,
- Pass UKM interview (if required), and meet the faculty specific requirements;
Domestic Candidate
SPM qualification with credit in Malay Language or Malay Language July Paper and pass in History, and Obtained at least Band 1 in MUET
Passed STPM with at least a CGPA of 2.00 and obtained at least:
- Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in General Paper; and
- Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in two (2) other subjects.
For Post-Matriculation Candidates
- Passed KPM/UM Science Foundation / UiTM Science Foundation / UiTM TESL Foundation / UiTM Engineering Foundation / KPT Law Foundation Matriculation with at least a CGPA of 2.00.
For Candidates with Diploma or equivalent;
- Obtained a Diploma qualification or equivalent qualifications recognized by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the University Senate; or
Passed STPM in 2019 or before with at least a CGPA of 2.00 and obtained at least:
- Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in General Paper and
- Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in two (2) other subjects.
OR
- Passed Matriculation exams in 2019 or before with at least a CGPA of 2.00; or
- Passed STPM examination in 2019 or before, with at least a Jayyid.
Language Requirements for International Applicants
International students must meet English language requirements by obtaining IELTS, TOEFL, or MUET results, or any examination aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) that meets the minimum score or band requirements set by their respective programs and approved by the university.
