UCT Online Application Closing Dates For 2025-2026

The University of Cape Town Management has unveiled application deadlines for all academic programs (undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate/distance/diploma) in the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year. To facilitate efficient application review, specific dates have been designated for course registration and admission closure. Prospective candidates are advised to carefully review and adhere to these critical deadlines.

The University of Cape Town Admission Key Dates 2025-2026

Application Timeline:

April 1st, 2024: Applications open for undergraduate admission in 2025.
April 20th, 2024: UCT Virtual Open Day takes place online.
July 31st, 2024: Deadline for all undergraduate applications and student housing applications.
August 31st, 2024: Deadline for program changes and Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art (BA(FA)) portfolios.
October 11th, 2024: Last chance to take the National Benchmark Tests (NBTs) for admission.
October 15th, 2024: Deadline for international applicants to receive an offer of admission (to allow sufficient time for study visas).
November 30th, 2024: Deadline for specific programs and requirements (check the official website for details).

Additional Notes:

Late applications will not be accepted.
Specific deadlines apply for certain programs, such as Bachelor of Architectural Studies (BAS) portfolios.
International applicants should apply early to ensure enough time for visa processing.

University of Cape Town Application Process

To apply online, follow the steps below:

Go to the UCT website: www.uct.ac.za online
At the top menu of the page, click on “Applicants & Students”
Please, read the information carefully.
Then, you click on “Prospective students” from the list of items on the page.
A welcome message from UCT will be displayed on the page. Kindly read the information and proceed
Go to “Applications” at the top menu of the “Prospective Students” page
Click on “Apply” from the drop-down list
Select your qualification “Undergraduate or Postgraduate”
Read the Application instructions and proceed to the next stage
On the left side of the application instruction page, click on “Apply Online”
An online application page will be open for you
Then, select your qualification from the list (Undergraduate, Postgraduate, etc)
Read the information and select the year you are applying for
Click on “Click here to continue” to complete the application process
Submit your application for review.

PLEASE NOTE: Make sure to submit your application as soon as feasible, rather than waiting until the last possible moment. UCT access is in higher demand than the number of applications accepted into the programs (as controlled by the enrolment targets)
