UCT Online Application Closing Dates For 2026

The University of Cape Town (UCT) has announced the application deadlines for all programs (undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate, distance, and diploma) for the 2026 academic year. Applicants are urged to check these important dates and make sure to submit their applications before the deadlines to ensure a smooth review and admission process.

Admission Key Dates 2026

Application Timeline:

April 1st, 2025: Applications open for undergraduate admission in 2026.
April 20th, 2025: UCT Virtual Open Day takes place online.
July 31st, 2025: Deadline for all undergraduate applications and student housing applications.
August 31st, 2025: Deadline for program changes and Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art (BA(FA)) portfolios.
October 11th, 2025: Last chance to take the National Benchmark Tests (NBTs) for admission.
October 15th, 2025: Deadline for international applicants to receive an offer of admission (to allow sufficient time for study visas).
November 30th, 2025: Deadline for specific programs and requirements (check the official website for details).

Additional Notes:

Late applications will not be accepted.
Specific deadlines apply for certain programs, such as Bachelor of Architectural Studies (BAS) portfolios.
International applicants should apply early to ensure enough time for visa processing.

To apply online, follow the steps below:

Visit www.uct.ac.za.
Click “Applicants & Students” in the top menu.
Consider the facts offered.
Choose “Prospective Students” from the list.
Read the welcome message and proceed.
Navigate to the “Applications” tab.
Select “Apply” from the drop-down menu.
Select your qualification (undergraduate or postgraduate).
Review and follow application instructions.
Click “Apply Online” to begin.
Fill out the online application form.
Select your qualifications and application year.
Select “Click here to continue” to progress.
Upload all required paperwork.
Submit your application after reviewing it.

PLEASE NOTE: Make sure to submit your application as soon as feasible, rather than waiting until the last possible moment. UCT access is in higher demand than the number of applications accepted into the programs (as controlled by the enrolment targets)
