UCT Online Application Form PDF Download 2027

The University of Cape Town (UCT) is now accepting applications for undergraduate qualifications, including certificates, diplomas, and degree programmes, for the 2027 academic year. Postgraduate applicants (Honours, Master’s, and Doctoral programmes) are also invited to apply in accordance with their respective faculty requirements and deadlines.

This is your opportunity to pursue your academic goals at one of the world’s leading universities. Applicants who prefer manual submission may download the official application form from the UCT website and follow the prescribed submission guidelines outlined in this article.

In this guide, you will learn how to access the UCT 2027 application form, the important opening and closing dates, the required supporting documents, application fees, and how to submit your application successfully after completion.

When to Submit Your Applications

All applicants have from 1 April to 31 July 2026 to download the PDF version of the application form, complete it in full, attach certified hard copies of the required supporting documents, and include proof of payment of the non-refundable application fee.

Once completed, the application may be submitted to the relevant office at the University of Cape Town campus or sent via the prescribed official email channel, in line with UCT’s submission guidelines.

Please note that late applications will not be considered. Any submission received after 31 July 2026 will unfortunately be rejected.

Submitting a Paper Application to UCT for 2027

If you are unable to complete your application online, you may submit a paper application to the University of Cape Town (UCT).

Completed undergraduate application forms must be emailed to admissions-ug@uct.ac.za with the subject line: “2027 UCT Application Form

Your application must be submitted no later than July 31, 2026. Late submissions will not be considered.

If you are unable to submit your application via email, you may send it by post. Ensure that your application reaches the Admissions Office before the closing date.

Documents to Be Attached

You must attach certified copies of the required supporting documents before submitting your application.

Fresh Applicants:

  • Copies of your academic results from Grade 11 up to September of Grade 12 (latest available results).

Transfer Applicants:

  • All official academic transcripts and records from your current or previous institution(s).

Key: Make sure the copies are properly certified and clear. Incomplete documentation can delay or negatively affect your application.

Application Fee Requirement

Applicants are required to attach proof of payment of the application fee before submitting their application. Applications without payment confirmation will not be processed.

The applicable fees for the 2027 application cycle are as follows:

  • R100 for South African and SADC applicants

  • R300 for international applicants outside the SADC region

Undergraduate Diploma Study The minimum requirement for admission to undergraduate diploma study is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 3 (Moderate Achievement, 40-49%) or better in 4 recognized NSC 20-credit subjects
Bachelor’s Degree Study

 

 

 

·         Applicants holding a South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) need to pass a minimum of 4 subjects at a rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or better in any four 20-credit NSC subjects.

·         Applicants holding a South African Senior Certificate need matriculation endorsement.

·         Applicants holding non-South African school-leaving certificates must qualify for a matriculation exemption certificate. For more information please visit the website of the Matriculation Board.
