UNISA Opening and Closing Date For 2026 Admissions
Applications to study at UNISA for undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate Diploma qualifications in Semester 1 of 2026 will be accepted from August 21 to October 11, 2025. Applications for Master’s and doctorate qualifications will be accepted from September 2 to November 22, 2025. All applications must be submitted via the UNISA application portal.
Who can Apply for UNISA 2026 Admissions?
Applications are accepted for first-time UNISA applicants or students wishing to change their academic program. Applicants who previously applied but were not awarded a place or were offered a spot but did not register can reapply using the original application login information.
How much is the Unisa application fee for 2026?
The University of South Africa charges an R135.00 application fee for new applicants applying for undergraduate, honours, postgraduate diplomas, master’s, and doctoral qualifications. To avoid paying the application fee, applicants with current UNISA student numbers can use their student numbers to avoid paying application or processing fees.

UNISA 2026 Application Requirements
Prospective applicants applying to study at UNISA must meet the following requirements
- Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate qualifications
- An email address and proof of residency
- Proof of application fee
- Original Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s)
- Copy of your ID document (RSA students)
- ID/passport (international students)
- Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
- Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
What Do You Need to Apply for UNISA Admissions?
You need to check that you qualify for admission and that you have the necessary documents ready to upload during the application process. You need to ensure that
- You meet the statutory and college admission requirements for my qualification(s) of choice.
- You meet the minimum academic points score (APS) for your qualification(s) of choice.
- You have a valid e-mail address and cellphone number and accept that Unisa will communicate with you during the application process using this e-mail address and cellphone number.
