The University of Venda (UNIVEN) is currently offering an opportunity to apply for studies through its online application form for the 2026 academic year. This university offers courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate to all domestic and international students.

UNIVEN 2026 Application Dates

The University of Venda applications for 2026 are open from April 1 to September 30, 2025. While most undergraduate programs close on September 30, some courses have an earlier closing date. Postgraduate applications will, however, close by October 31, 2025. There is no age limit for admission, and all age groups are welcome to apply

Streamlined Application Process at the University of Venda

The University of Venda has separate application procedures for new and returning applicants. If you’re applying for the first time in 2026, use the online portal. This portal is exclusively for new applicants. If you previously applied but weren’t accepted, download the application form from the official website (www.univen.ac.za).

Required Supporting Documents for UNIVEN Online Application 2026

To apply online, you should have the following needed documents. These documents must be scanned into PDF format. Application forms without these documents are invalid.

  • A South African Identity number or passport number (international students)
  • Cell phone number
  • A working email address
  • Credit/debit card with CV number to pay the R100 application fee online.
  • Grade 11 report or statement of grade 12 results
  • A copy of the Matric Certificate
  • Copy of study /residence permit / medical insurance /SAQA Evaluation Certificate

How to Apply University of Venda (UNIVEN) Online Application 2026

  1. Visit the UNIVEN online application portal for 2026: www.univen.ac.za
  2. Click on “Apply for Admission” at the top menu of the UNIVEN homepage
  3. Click on “Begin online application”
  4. An Academic Application Process opens
  5. Read the information carefully
  6. Please proceed to log into the myAccess webpage with your student number, to continue with your application
  7. Pay the Refundable Application fee of R100
    • Deposit the fee at BSA account no 1000 000 589 and use your ID number or student number as your
      reference.
  8. Complete and submit your application online

Please Note this:

  • During the online application process, you may save and return at a later stage to resume the application process.
  • The applicant will be required to create a pin consisting of 5 digits

University of Venda (Univen) Admission Requirements 2026

Undergraduate Admission

Degree: The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi) with an achievement rating of 4 (adequate achievement, 50-59%) or better in four subjects chosen from the recognized 20-credit NSC subjects. In addition, applicants must have a minimum point score of 26. A grade 12 certificate with a bachelor or matric exemption is required if grade 12 has been achieved.

Diploma: The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 3 (moderate achievement, 40-49%) or better in four recognized NSC 20-credit subjects.

Certificate: The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi.
To be considered for admission to specific programmes, applicants are required to have the appropriate combinations of recognized National Senior Certificate subjects as well as certain levels of achievement in these subjects.
