Universiti Malaya Open Channel (SATU) for Malaysian Students:

The application period for the Universiti Malaya Open Channel (SATU) for Malaysian students is now open! Apply from March 15, 2024, to September 23, 2024, to pursue a Foundation or Bachelor’s Degree program at UM’s esteemed Academies, Faculties, and Institutes. This is a great opportunity for qualified students to gain admission to UM’s renowned programs.

Bachelor’s Degree Programmes (International):

Applications for international students seeking Bachelor’s Degree programs for Semester 1, Session 2024/2025 are also now open! Apply by August 30, 2024, to begin your studies at UM in the upcoming semester.

To allow for adequate time for application, processing, and planning by the university and yourself, online applications for early admission in 2024 should be submitted on or before the above timelines

  • Recommended Browser (Mozilla Firefox and Chrome)
  • Search for academic programs based on your research interests at study.um.edu.my.
  • Create an account on the application portal at apply.um.edu.my, fill out the form, and upload the necessary documents.
  • Pay a RM 300 processing fee via FPX, Debit Card, Credit Card, or Flywire for each application submitted.
  • Once the application has been received, an acknowledgment email will be sent.
  • Check the application result regularly through the application portal; only successful applicants will be able to view the offer letter.
  • Accept the offer on the application portal.

The necessary documents required for the 2024/2025 academic year

  • A passport-size photo with a blue background.
  • A passport copy of the first page only.
  • An Academic Transcript & Certificate.
  • An English Language Proficiency Certificate.
  • Work evidence, research experience, sponsorship/scholarship letter,

Admission Requirement criteria for the 2024/2025 academic year

Completed and passed a minimum of twelve (12) years of study and obtained the following qualifications:

  • National High School Certificate/Grade 12/A-Level/IB/Equivalent;

OR

  • Possess a Diploma that is recognized by the University with at least a CGPA of 3.00;
  • Advanced Subsidiary/ Predicted/ Provisional/ Mock/ Expected results are unacceptable.
  • Applicants may be required to undergo an interview and/or test for certain programmes before being accepted by the respective faculty.

Language Requirement for International Applicants

  • A score of 500 (PBT), 173 (CBT), or 60 (IBT) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); or
  • Band 5.0 and above for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (Academic); or
  • Band 3 and above in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET); or
  • A score of 41 and above on the Pearson Test of Academic English (PTE Academic); or
  • Grade C and above for the English Language subject for the General Certificate of Education (A-Level), University of Cambridge; or
  • Grade C and above for the English Language subject for the General Certificate of Secondary Education (O-Level), University of Cambridge; or
  • Grade C and above in the Cambridge Assessment English: First (FCE)
