UNISA Applications and Admission Requirements For 2025

The University of South Africa is one of the universities with a large number of applications. Enrollment at UNISA requires that you satisfy and exceed the entrance requirements. UNISA Mode of Application For 2025

The University of South Africa only accepts applications online. An online application is the sole way of application accepted by UNISA. To apply for admission to UNISA for the academic year 2025, you must have an email account, whether Yahoo or Gmail, a phone number, and a residence address. For the academic year 2025, all UNISA applications must be submitted online.

Prospective applicants applying to UNISA for the FIRST TIME must pay a non-refundable application or processing fee of R135.00. No student number will be assigned to a new applicant until the application fee is paid. The UNISA application fee is paid just once.

After submitting your application form and fees, wait for UNISA’s response 6-8 weeks after the closing date. Use your STUDENT NUMBER to check the site for STATUS regularly.

What Documents Are Required to Apply to UNISA?

A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or National Senior Certificate credentials
An email address and proof of residence are required.
Application fee receipt
Official tertiary academic record(s) in the original form

A copy of your marriage certificate or divorce decree (if appropriate)
Documents must be sworn translated if they are not in English or Afrikaans.

UNISA Acceptance Rate

An applicant will not automatically be accepted to study through Unisa even if he or she meets all the requirements for the qualification(s) of choice. Students will be accommodated based on the number of spaces available for each qualification. Please note that the “first come first served” principle does NOT apply.

UNISA 2025 Application Outcome

Unisa will inform all applicants who applied during the application period of the outcome of their applications. Those given an offer must accept or decline the offer within 10 days.

First-time applicants to Unisa will be required to complete the First-Year Experience MOOC (massive open online course) before you will be able to accept your offer and register for the 2025 semester 1 academic year. You will automatically be routed to the offer acceptance page once you complete the last activity in the MOOC.
